So has anyone played the two evil dead games? are they any good? do they do a reasonable job of continuing the story from the movies?

Re: Evil Dead GAMES?
Thu, April 21, 2005 - 10:12 AMHey, Elfie. I have not really seen much of the evil dead games, but I found something pretty damn funny while playing a friends PS1 a few years back. I tryed playing the new(at the time) Pitfall game, I suddenly realised that all the diolouge supplied for the main charictor Harry, was the voice of our beloved Bruce Campbell. It was freakin great, the game itself sucked, but was totaly worth an hour or two to here the Ashman speak! take care.

Thu, May 24, 2007 - 6:35 AMLeading Edge(?) did a miniatures game some time ago. There was an accompanying board game to use the minis with, even a deathmobile figure, all in pewter. Nice effort, though the game itself pretty much sucked.

Re: Evil Dead GAMES?
Tue, May 3, 2005 - 1:50 AMThere's a new one been announced:
Evil Dead: Regeneration
www.evildeadregeneration.com/
The one just previous wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It's cool that Bruce is still up for trotting out the character for voicework.
The team's previous efforts have been good: Summoner and Red Faction II -- I hope the CrankyPants guys get it right where others have failed! -

Re: Evil Dead GAMES?
Wed, May 4, 2005 - 12:48 PMI have Hail to the King for PS1 and my bro has Fistfull of Boomstick on PS2. Both games are not very good, but I painstakingly played through them for the story and that's what they did pretty well. The story is good, but the overall gameplay sucks! -

Fri, May 19, 2006 - 2:54 PMHas anyone played the boardgame Midevil by Twighlight creations? www.twilightcreationsinc.com/midevil/
I own their game Zombies!!! which is basically based off all Zombie movies and it's great!
I have been thinking about buying Midevil, which as you can tell from the link is an adaption of Army of Darkness.

Re: Evil Dead GAMES?
Wed, June 21, 2006 - 6:14 PMI bought ED: Regeneration in February and only just now found the time to play it. I played it through to the end, and mostly enjoyed it. The art is very good, the voice acting is perfect for the material, and the story is somewhere between Evil Dead's weirdness and the necessary "mission based" feel that most game writing suffers from. The cut scene movies are especially close to feeling like Evil Dead material, which made me really happy even though it's not interactive.
The opening of the game is very close to the feelng of an ED movie; there are boo-scares and nicely scripted in-game moments that really set the tone. I was finished with the game before I realized that there weren't very many (any?) scripted events after the game gets past it's opening in the cabin and asylum.
This game is a LOT better than the Fistfull of Boomstick one, which was basically an ED flavored game. Regeneration comes within chainsaw's reach of achieving a perfect ED experience, if only they'd had another 3 months to polish it.
