Raimi...

I see hints of his AOD and EDII styles in the Spidey flick(s). I know you all caught "the classic" Uncle Ben was cruising around in.

Congratulations to Raimi and his success.

Too bad I'm just a little jealous that now we have to share him with the rest of the world.

Naw... (I suggest that you) don't think of it as "share"... think of it as the rest of the world finally getting enlightened to the brilliance of the man.

        ?

I'm with me on this one.

Looks like "fecitious" passed you on the inside track.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has seen "crimewave" but me?

I've seen "Crimewave" -- man, that was incoherent.

"Spiderman" was a real cause for concern for me; after "Darkman," it felt like the more money Raimi had to play with, the worse the movie turned out. I kept hoping someone would give him a really low budget cap, and force him to use his mad Skills-of-Cheapness on it. It would have been a different film, but I bet it would have been as good or better without the gazillions of bucks on CGI.

Aw come on, you didn't like Spider-man? I'm there opening day for the sequal!

I was apparently trapped in a deadite realm for a month. I will never mumble my incantations again.

Spidey was great. It was faboo. I just wonder what the movie would have been like if it had a small budget. The effects that Army of Darkness used were beacons of creative energy, while the CG New York will look like poo poo in a couple years.

funny quote from the Spider Man DVD commentary:

Raimi talks about the announcer for the wrestling match being is good friend Bruce Campbell and says "I only wish I got to torture him more." If you know anything about the relationship Raimi and BC have, Sam has this great love for putting BC through hell during filming. Just look at the ED movies. if you have commentary on your DVDs i suggest watching the ED series back through with them on, it's hilarious.

                  "Workshed."

"The-the-the VACUUM-form one... hey baby, wanna play house? You can be the screen door and I'll slam you all night long."

the commentaries on those films are hilarious! EDII is one of my favorite commentaries of all time.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but have y'all read Bruce Campbell's book? Where he describes in intimate detail all the personal hell Sam put him through, all those years? Calling him his nemesis, but with love :). Great book, and perfect to go along with commentary on the Evil Dead movies.

                          He's writing a new book...

"Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way"

                          oh hell yea.

A little off-topic, but check out "My Best Fiend" to see a truly unbelievable actor/director relationship.

That's Werner Herzog's 'documentary' arguing his side of his the story of his relationship with Klaus Kinski.

Kinski's life is as insane as any of the movies he made.
